AROUND THE HOUSE

My friend and colleague Polly Smith tried out The BabyBriefcase. Here's her take on it:

Why would a baby need a briefcase? Because a baby comes with piles of paperwork and paper keepsakes: birth certificate, medical records, Social Security and insurance forms, and congratulatory cards. Keeping track of baby papers is even more daunting when taking care of a newborn. The BabyBriefcase from Organized from the Start ($29.95) offers a handy and attractive solution.

Somehow, a manila folder is too severe for such important keepsakes. The BabyBriefcase, with its pretty periwinkle, mint and peach folders is pretty enough for these special papers.

The system, which fits into a standard file cabinet, has a handy "thank you" note tracker. It also has a framed photo pocket on the front. There's room for a pen, too, which makes filling out paper work a little easier.
